Nov. 1 | RISE: An ALAANA Artisan Panel Discussion (FREE! RSVP Required)

Reserve your ticket today to attend our ALAANA Artisan Panel Discussion at Adamson High School on November 1st, 2023 at 4:45pm. Presenting to the Adamson student art club and the general public (RSVP required) - you won't want to miss this insightful conversation.

Community is an essential ingredient for success in any field, especially the arts. For artists of color – a lack of representation and barriers like pressure for stability can make it hard for students and families to visualize what a future in the arts can really look like. There are so many opportunities and paths to work and support the arts. Success is not all or nothing!

In this panel discussion brought to you by Mosaic Makers Collective and the City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture, we'll talk to - and learn from - five local ALAANA artisans who are making it work in the real world.

Meet the Panel:
Nicole Bernard, NB Makes (Moderator)
Kathy Phan, Kathyphantastic
Lauren-Ashley Barnes, Pineapple Sundays
Shraddha Dharia, Artologie Studio
Ashlea Kiiing, Kiiing Creations

How much it costs: $0

She Makes - Live Podcast Recording

Mosaic Makers Collective and She Makes, a podcast, are proud to present a LIVE episode recording on the importance of culture representation and identity in art, in the midst of AAPI Heritage Month and just a few weeks before Juneteenth.

What is the importance of cultural identity in art? As makers, how do we embrace and celebrate this within our own cultures and beyond - and as  consumers, how do embrace and shout out these important messages to our communities? She Makes host Katy Sensenig Schilthuis, together with co-host Taylor Mitchell, will have a live recording with special guests Nicole Bernard of NB Makes, Kathy Phan of Kathyphantastic, and Ashlea Kiiing of Kiiing Creations - diving deeper into the subject of representation and art first explored in She Makes’ first season.
